Denis McLoughlin
We are sad to report that one of our
beloved club members Denis McLoughlin passed away on April 16 2018 after a 2-year battle with cancer. Denis was a great character, always very positive and good humoured.
By profession a Cartographer he worked for 40 years mapping nooks and crannies the length and breadth of the the country. However it is through squash that most of Highfield knew him and we all know he loved his squash, playing 'friendlies', box matches and the club championship. He was very competitive and played right
throughout his illness, even playing all of last summer while receiving
chemotherapy treatment – an amazing feat at the age of 75 years young. Denis also played indoor bowling and ran the local club in Carrigaline.
Denis will be sadly missed by everyone in
the Highfield family - Rest in Peace, Dear Friend.
