Sadly, our dear friend Michael Murphy passed away on Wednesday, 27th May unexpectedly after a very short illness.
Michael was a great character on and off of the court and was a member of the committee for a number of years. He will be fondly remembered by those who knew him as a great clubman and supporter of the club. He recently refereed the Men’s D Plate final in the Club championships and was himself only narrowly beaten in his own semi-final.
He Played Division 4 leagues over the last few years and, when he wasn’t available through injury, supported leagues and teams when he wasn't playing. He was considered a tricky player with his deft drops and boasts and he certainly loved his squash!
Michael always made himself available when jobs needed doing within the club and we have truly lost a good friend and clubman.
