Highfield Squash Club Boxes 2025/26
  1. New members will be added to the boxes only after they arrange and get a ranking from one of the captains or one of the coaches and the box coordinator informed.
  2. Each box consists of 5 players unless not available.
  3. Timeline: Boxes will be published and begin on the first day each month that they are in operation and players have 4 weeks (28 days) to play thier 4 matches, if applicable. That allows the box committee 2/3 days (except for February) to organise the boxes and publish.
  4. Points: In a 3-0 win, the winner gets 7 points  and the loser gets 1 point; In a 3-1 win it's 6 point to 2 and a 3-2 win is 5-3.
  5. Promotion:
    i The top 2 players will be promoted from each box, except in Boxes 2A and 2B where only the top player in each is promoted to Box 1.
    ii To get promoted you need to play a minimum of 3 games.
    iii Promotion will be based on the number of wins, then if players have the same number of wins it will be based on points and if the same points then by the head-to-head result between the two.
  6. Relegation: The bottom 2 players will be relegated from each box.
  7. Staying: 3rd placed player in each box will remain in that box. The top 3 players in Box 1 will remain in that box.
  8. Removal from Boxes: If a player does not play a minimum of 3 games each month they will be removed from the boxes for the following month so if for any unforeseen circumstance you are unable to play a minimum of 3 games, please contact the Club Captains.
  9. Parallel Boxes: Except Box 1, all other boxes are Parallel e.g. 2A and 2B, 3A and 3B. This is an example of how parallel boxes are ranked: The top player in 2A is ranked 6th and the top player in 2B is ranked 7th., the second player in 2A is ranked 8th and the second player in 2B is ranked 9th , etc.
  10. Walkovers: Players are responsible for contacting their opponents to arrange matches. If a fixture cannot be fulfilled, players need to contact the Club Captains. Walkovers can be awarded by the box organiser where a match is unplayed and player receiving the walkover will receive 7 points and it will be recorded as a wil.
  11. Players returning to Boxes will be placed at the discretion of the Box Co-ordinator.
