Leagues 2024-2025
So far this season Highfield has had 2 teams in Divisions Two (won by Celtic) and 2 teams in Division Six (won by Killinaule) while we had one team in Division Four (also won by Killinaule). Attention has now shifted to Divisions 1, 3 and 5 and if you are interested in playing then please read the following:

We are reaching out to those interested in participating in the upcoming Munster Leagues.

Starting from mid-January and typically running until April, we will have teams in Division 1, 3, and 5:

  • Division 1: Tuesday evenings
  • Division 3: Wednesday evenings
  • Division 5: Thursday evenings

Highfield panels for each division are determined based on the Munster League bands, which rank players from all participating Munster Squash clubs according to their ability and the divisions they are eligible to play in. Players can compete in their corresponding division and any higher division but not in lower divisions. For example, a player in Band 2 can play in Division 1 and Division 2, but not in any lower divisions. Similarly, a player in Band 4 can play in Divisions 1, 2, 3, and 4, but not in Divisions 5 and 6. The current Munster Leagues Squash bands are available to view here.

For Divisions 1, 3, and 5, Highfield aims to field one team per division. In the coming days, captains will be selected for each division, and panels will be determined. Based on their club ranking, availability, and commitment to participate in all matches, both home and away, squads for each division will be formed for the duration of the league -which will need to be entered by January 5th.

If you are interested in participating, especially if you do not have a recent history of playing in the Munster Leagues, please inform Brian O'Callaghan who is coordinating the league teams. Please express your interest only if you are committed to playing home and away fixtures, which can include trips to Ennis, Killarney, Thurles, Waterford, Nenagh, Killenaule, etc. Also, please be aware that due to high membership numbers, you may not be in the final squad that gets selected.

There is some useful information here for league team members and team captains that will help them in their campaign.
